First Christian Church of Rowlett serves as the major ministry center for relief efforts from the Dec 2015 tornado in partnership with the North Texas Area, Week of Compassion and Disciples Volunteering. Major reconstruction efforts and volunteer opportunities are still underway. As of Dec 1 2016 In Garland, for instance, only 80% of the damaged homes have gotten permits for reconstruction, and only 70% of the affected homes are reoccupied. While this is great progress, work will continue for years.
The North Texas Area has disbursed more than $16,000 to affected individuals and a gift of $20,000 to install showers for FCC Rowlett to operate as a Mission Station. Please be patient, prayerful and generous! Gifts can still be given to FCC Rowlett, the North Texas Area Relief Fund, and Week of Compassion designated for North Texas Tornado Relief.
Information about single-day volunteer opportunities is available on the website of First Christian Church of Rowlett. Visit the Disciples Volunteering webpage to sign up for Mission Trips to Rowlett.

The seminar discusses how to attract outsiders, connect visitors and integrate new members. The seminar is presented in high-quality Flash video in six sessions. In addition to all six full-length videos, the seminar workbook is provided, session summaries and an area-wide on-line discussion forum for talking about each session of the seminar. Also, Larry Ross, Area Minister and President of the North Texas Area is available to visit NTA churches in a follow-up capacity to help interpret and apply the principles of this seminar in a holistic way
