Regional Men's Work Project Announced
Building an expanded sanctuary for the Temple of New Life congregation at Jacksonville, TX will be Disciples Men’s 2014 Mission Work Project. This year’s project will be to build a larger sanctuary for this growing Hispanic congregation. Regional Disciples Men built this congregation’s first multi-purpose building with classrooms and offices in 2009 and now they have out grown that facility. This is a nice success story for a young congregation that borrowed around $70, 000 from Church Extension in 2009 to help fund their new building. Recently they bought a vacant lot next door to provide space for their new sanctuary. Dates for this project are March 3-8, 2014. Regional Disciples Men are donating $8000 for this project, of which $5200 was donated at the September 2013 annual regional retreat. Other donations are being collected by CCSW church groups and individuals. Mission Work Project Coordinator Jimmie Muckleroy is already donating supplies and his employees’ time by pouring the concrete slab and putting up the steel frame structure( 50 by 75 feet dimensions) prior to the March 3 start date.
