Casa View Christian Church  Dallas, Texas

casaview_courtyard_200w.jpgCasa View Christian Church is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a denomination born in the early 1800s on the American frontier.  This congregation was established in 1953.  Today there are approximately 320 members, and we are enjoying steady growth.

Disciples churches in general are recognized for their devotion to unity despite diversity, and membership does not require confession to any rigid creed or doctrine.  We tend to be open, progressive, and innovative, and our members enjoy sharing ideas and perspectives.

CVCC defines itself as a Place to Belong, Be Loved, and Believe. We value the Christian message, as contained both in the Bible and in the church’s historical experience. We encourage ethical and moral values and things that foster spiritual and emotional well-being. We value people, family, social justice, gender equity, unity, tolerance, compassion and forgiveness.

Worship

Recently we have shifted to a single blended service at 10 a.m. held in the sanctuary.  It features contemporary music led by the praise singers and band.  It also includes a few traditional hymns and other traditional elements.  Communion is open to all, and there is always an opportunity for response.

Sunday school for all ages is available at 9 a.m.  Coffee and donuts are available in the foyer of the sanctuary starting before Sunday school and throughout the service.

Youth

The Christian Youth Fellowship (called CYF, high school age) and ChiRho (6th - 8th Grade) meet on Wednesdays from at 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. for study and planning. They also meet on Sundays for Bible Class at 10:00 a.m.  The Casa View youth also enjoy a variety of other special activities including outings, mission trips, camps, lock-ins, and area-wide events, spiritual growth and renewal.

Ministries

CVCC operates a variety of ministries, both for the nurture and care of its members and outreach to the community and the world.  We support a number of special agencies, such as White Rock Center of Hope, Bryan’s House, Visiting Nurse’s Association, Austin Street Shelter, Hospice, Week of Compassion, and a variety of Overseas Missions Programs. We encourage volunteer work with such agencies as well as other humanitarian projects. We provide special care for the homebound and seniors in nursing homes. We provide and encourage a variety of fellowship activities, such as small groups, recreation, outings, games, and fellowship meals.

Academy/Day Care

Casa View Christian Academy provides the kind of child care you can trust for children ages 6 weeks - 12 years. The daily environment is Christian, offering regular chapel, High Reach learning curriculum, music and crafts, daily breakfast, lunch, and a snack, playground and other learning activities.  The Academy is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  We also offer before and after School Care for children attending Casa View, Gill, and Larry Smith Elementary Schools. We are a CCMS approved facility.
