Adult Ministries

Adult Sunday School

Friendship Class spends the first 30 minutes every Sunday morning singing hymns from old hymn books, then hears the lesson from The Present Word led by one of several members who rotate the teaching responsibility.

The second adult class is currently doing a study of Genesis

Other Ministries

Elder-Led Book Study meets monthly to study "Unbinding Your Heart.'  The meeting starts at 8:30 immediately after the elders' monthly meeting. These meetings are the first Sunday of each month. The study time is from 8:30 - 9:15 and is in the library.

A spiritual discipline prayer group meets weekly on Thursdays at 10 AM in the library. New participants are welcome any time. Currently the prayer group is doing a scripture-led discipline with a different scripture each week, so no preparation is needed.

The choir meets weekly Wednesday evenings at 7 PM to practice, sings for all of our services, performs special music during Advent and Lent, and occasionally goes to Juliette Fowler for the CCC worship services there. CCC's choir director and organist are both exceptional musicians.

The Stitchers meet every first Wednesday at 6 PM for fellowship and to collect the items that are ready to distribute: helmet liners for our military personnel, newborn caps and blankets for Medical City infants, lap blankets for shut-ins, and pocket bears for Iraqi children.

Disciples Women's Fellowship meets occasionally; holds an annual church garage sale from which all unsold clothes, shoes, some linens, and toys go to Southwest Good Samaritan Ministries in the Mike's Kids truck; provide a birthday party at Juliette Fowler one month; collect blessing boxes; purchase needed items for CCC (like refrigerators and ice makers); etc. After learning of the need from a SGSM staff member, DWF purchased a new sewing machine to go in the Mike's Kids shipment in Dec.

55+ meets every first Wednesday at 1 PM for fellowship and games. The usual game is chicken foot as it can accommodate a few to a lot of players and is a simple game to learn how to play.

See CCC's outreach web page for more information on our ministries.
