Children’s Ministries
Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and don't hinder them, for to them and others like them belongs God's Kingdom!" Forest Grove offers several opportunities for children of all ages to meet, learn from, and love Jesus, under the leadership of Shirley Johannsen, our Children's Education Ministry Leader.
Sunday School - 9:30-10:30 am in the Ministry Center
Through Computers, Crafts, Games, Cooking, Story-telling and other modes our children learn the stories of our faith and apply them to their own lives and relationships with God.
Sunday Worship - 11 am in the Sanctuary.
The children share in worship in the Sanctuary in this service designed to be open and welcoming to multiple learning styles.
Wild Wednesdays - Starting with dinner from 5:45-6:15, AND fellowship till 7:15, our preschool and elementary children learn what Jesus is doing in the world, and how he wants them to help. We will study different mission work here in the US and around the world, learning where Jesus is working through His church. We will regularly have projects where we will join together in that work. Games & Music will be regular parts of this time together.
Fellowship - The children periodically gather for parties and retreats.
Service - The children learn to show God's love to others in small and simple ways.
If you are interested in any of these groups or activities, please contact our Children's Ministry.
Youth Ministries
You may not spend much time thinking or talking about it, but the Christian Faith includes the affirmation that Jesus was a teenager! Jesus tells us that when we love others in His name, we're showing love to Him. And Jesus wants us to reach ALL God's children with His overwhelming and amazing love that transforms our lives.
Bible Study - Wider - Deeper - Higher
On Wednesday Evenings we begin with Tutoring @ 4:30, Dinner from 5:30-6:30, and youth groups (fellowship, games, youth-focused topical bible study) from 6:30-7:30pm.
On Sunday Mornings from 9:30 -10:30 we meet in the Barn to play, study and share. Then we all attend worship @ 11am.
On Sunday Evenings we have Young Brothers and Young Sisters from 5:30-7pm, where youth get to dig deep into issues that really challenge their lives. Boys meet @ the Rodenbaughs, girls meet at the Crawfords.
Service - Its important that we do things for others. On a regular basis we get a chance as small or large groups to reach out to those around us - our peers and others, and show them some kindness as a way to experience and show God's love.
Fun - Jesus loved a good party, and so do we. Whether here, at someone's home, in the community or at camp, we love to laugh and play, again as a way to experience and show God's love.
Support - Being a teenager can be tough. (Being a human is tough, who are we kidding!) We try to be here for each other, and when we need an adult to encourage and counsel us, they are around too.
Grow - Just like we have to get the right kind of rest, exercise, and food to be healthy, our spirits
need to be nourished too. This happens in all the things we do as watchers and followers of Jesus, and the closer we get to Him, the healthier we'll be.
