| Irie L. Session | Irie believes she has been saved to serve. Salvation for Irie means more than the hope of eternally living with God in heaven. It is a salvaging of ones present life and experiences through knowledge of and faith in God, a vital relationship with Jesus Christ and with the fellowship of believers-the church. She has a passion for “grass roots" ministry in urban communities. Of particular concern is serving individuals and groups marginalized by society. Irie received her Bachelors degree in Social Work from Oklahoma Christian College. In May 2006 she received the Masters of Divinity, with a certification in Black Church Studies from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University. She is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She is the single mother of one daughter, India. |
